Souvenir "Turtle on the bark of a cork oak"

Our souvenir is created entirely from natural materials. The turtle is carved from avocado seed, the head and legs are almonds and pumpkin seeds. It is located on a cozy island - a piece of cork oak, polished by the waves of the ocean.

Turtles are a common symbol in the culture of many nations. The carapace serves as the main defense against enemies now there are about 330 species of turtles in the world. The first appeared on Earth about 220 million years ago. Most the large modern turtle is leatherback. With dimensions up to 2.5 meters, it can weigh 800-900 kg. Turtles live long, but the exact dates depend, among other things, on their type. The officially registered longevity record is 188 years. Only brown turtles take care of their offspring. All their other species lay eggs and forget about them forever. High temperature the surrounding among the turtle eggs hatch females, and with a lower one - males. Turtles are one of the few animals remembering people in person and distinguishing them. Like birds, they are guided by the planet's magnetic field on long journeys.
