The hare is a common animal. He is known for his caution, knows how to quickly escape from the pursuit and deftly confuse his tracks. Hares can be found on all continents except Antarctica. Wherever hares are found, they are the object of hunting, and they still have not died out just because they are very actively multiplying. They communicate with each other, beating drum rolls with their front paws. In addition, hares are by no means as harmless as they seem. Contrary to popular belief, they are not vegetarians - they are willing to eat meat. Their powerful hind legs with sharp claws are a terrible weapon. Although, of course, the nature of the hare is such that the hare will defend itself only when cornered, otherwise it will try to escape from the source of danger to the last. Running away from danger, hares do not leave the territory they consider theirs. While running, hares are capable of speeds up to seventy kilometers per hour. Female hares live on average almost twice as long as males. Hares' teeth grow all their lives, so they need to gnaw something hard to grind them down. Only an experienced hunter with the help of experienced dogs can take a hare. A hare fixes a creeping hunter at a distance of 100-150 m. In wet rainy weather, hares lie in shelters and starve. Hares live from 5 to 8 years.
