Quarteira is a seaside town located in the central part of the Algarve. The city is home to over 20,000 inhabitants. The beautiful Quarteira “Marginal” promenade is one of the most beautiful sights of the city. This long promenade stretches for almost 3 kilometers and connects the city with the neighboring resort town of Vilamoura and its world famous golf courses. The promenade is paved with typical Portuguese cobblestones. The many attractions along the promenade will make your walk pleasant at any time of the day. One of them is the local fish market of a former fishing village, where every morning except Sunday you can buy the freshest fish. In summer, the beaches of Quarteira are the liveliest place, thanks to the calm sea waters and golden sands. Lick, the most popular disco in the Algarve, plays here every night. They say it hosts some of the wildest, noisiest parties in the entire region. With children, you should go to the neighboring settlement, where a large oceanarium is located.
