Seashell-suspension "Japan. Kimono."

The souvenir is made using the "Decoupage" technique with elements of painting on with acrylics. The seashell "Vieira" was found on the beach in the southern province of Portugal - Algarve. Our souvenir is filled with the warmth of the sun and carries the energy of the Atlantic Ocean.

Kimono, traditional Japanese clothing, is so unique that it is strongly associated with the land of the rising sun. The kimono came to Japan from China. Kimono is a long robe that is always wrapped on the right side. According to tradition, the first Japanese kimono is put on a month after birth. Women's kimonos are mostly presented in one size and are adjusted to the wearer using folds. Usually it takes a roll of fabric 36 cm wide and 12 meters long to create one kimono. Men's kimono is not much different from women's. It is interesting that men adhere to the slogan "all the beauty of clothes is inside", and often they wear drawings only on a lower kimono, inaccessible to general eyes. Furisode is a kimono for unmarried women. It features long and wide sleeves. This is a colorful festive kimono, which is often worn at the coming of age ceremony. Kurotomesode is a black kimono with a pattern below the waist, worn by married women. It is often worn at the wedding of the mother of the newlyweds. By the way, in Japanese culture, black is considered the most solemn color. Susohiki is a kimono worn by actresses and geisha to perform traditional Japanese dance. The Japanese finally switched to European clothing after the Great Kanto Earthquake in 1923.
