Our "Flamingo" souvenir is made from seashells collected from the Atlantic Ocean, Algarve province, Portugal. And these birds can indeed be seen in Portugal in shallow waters and at river estuaries. We also use iron wire, hand sculpting and the cold porcelain material to make a souvenir.
Flamingos are large birds with beautiful pale pink or red feathers, also known for their long legs and slightly crooked
long beak. Flamingos cannot be confused with any other bird. The birds got their name from the Latin word flamenco -
"Fire", which indicates their bright color. There are 6 species of flamingos on Earth today. In a day, an ordinary flamingo eats
food up to a quarter of its own weight. They put on an adult outfit in the third year of life. 4 toes on the leg, total body length 130-150
The wingspan is 140-165 cm. Pink is the largest. They prefer salty waters. The average age is 30 years. Speed
up to 56 km per hour. They don't like to swim. The long legs of flamingos help them walk along the bottom even at relatively great depths in search of
food, which gives them some advantages over other birds. Scientists consider flamingos to be descendants of ancient fossil birds,
who lived on earth about 50 million years ago. In the family lifestyle of flamingos, equality reigns. Here, both the male and the female participate in
the process of bearing, and then raising chicks. The male flamingos incubate the eggs laid by the female along with their female friend.
